Report: US in Talks With Potential F-35 Buyers in Gulf Region - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.S. government has begun discussions with several Persian Gulf countries about potential foreign military sales for Lockheed Martin-built F-35s, Reuters reported Friday.

Gen. Stephen Wilson, vice chief of staff at the U.S. Air Force, told reporters during a visit to the United Arab Emirates Friday the Trump administration looks to support U.S. partner nations that require and need “capabilities.”

“Specifically with the F-35s, we look at all of our partners and nations and allies and their requirements and here in the Gulf they share many of the same adversaries and challenges,” Wilson added, according to Reuters.

Lockheed is the F-35 prime contractor and collaborates with its principal partners BAE Systems and Northrop Grumman in the global fighter aircraft program.
