NTechlab won prizes from the U.S. Intelligence Community for its facial recognition software called FindFace which helps users match photos from strangers to online social media profiles via the VKontakte platform, Russia’s counterpart for Facebook.

Yitu landed the top spot in the challenge’s identification accuracy category while NTechlab won under the identification speed and verification accuracy categories.

Mikhail Ivanov, NTechlab CEO, said he hopes the publicity from the competition could help the company receive more opportunities to work with public safety groups worldwide.

IARPA worked with the National Institute for Standards and Technology to administer the challenge and NIST aims to issue a release on the technologies presented for the challenge.
