LaVerne Council

LaVerne Council, a more than 30-year public and private sector veteran, has been appointed national managing principal for enterprise digital strategy and innovation at Grant Thornton.

Grant Thornton said Thursday Council will oversee enterprise digital and technological strategies and products designed to help chief information officers address information technology challenges within their organizations.

She will report to Srikant Sastry, national managing principal for the firm’s advisory services group.

Council most recently served as senior vice president and general manager of Mitre‘s Center for Connected Government and before that she worked as chief information officer and assistant secretary at the Department of Veterans Affairs‘ Office of Information and Technology.

She previously held the roles of corporate VP and global CIO at healthcare products manufacturer Johnson & Johnson.

She is currently also a member of the Executive Leadership Council, the Executive Board Symposium and the Corporate Executive Board.
