DigitaliBiz to Engineer, Support NSF Polar Systems - top government contractors - best government contracting eventDigitaliBiz has won a potential 66-month, $48.9 million contract from the U.S. Navy to provide systems engineering and operational support services to the National Science Foundation‘s Division of Polar programs.

The Defense Department said Friday the company will help NSF implement systems designed to manage airspace, quality operational meteorology, aviation ground and information systems.

The Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command received four offers for the  indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via a full and open competition on the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command E-Commerce Central and FedBizOpps websites.

DoD noted the contract has a five-year ordering period valued at $45.3 million, followed by a six-month option period.

DigitaliBiz will perform  work at the SPAWAR Systems Center-Atlantic in South Carolina, the McMurdo Station in Antarctica and in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The Navy has obligated $7.2 million in federal government funds for an initial task order to the company.

NSF OPP partners with native Arctic communities; residents of Alaska; and federal, state, local, and international educational and research institutions and agencies to carry out systems research efforts in the polar region.
