NASA to Host Industry Day for Satellite Servicing Tech Transfer Projects - top government contractors - best government contracting eventNASA will host an industry day for satellite servicing technology transfer at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland which will showcase ongoing efforts to develop in-orbit servicing technologies for future satellites.

The space agency said Friday the industry day will display a technology catalog that covers more than 200 items, provide presentations on latest technological developments as well as offer a tour within the Goddard Robotic Operations Center.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to witness the space agency’s operational, programmatic and technical capacities in satellite servicing and discuss the possibility of public-private-partnerships.

The satellite servicing technology transfer industry day will cover discussions on the Restore-L project designed to showcase a capacity to rendezvous, inspect, repair and refuel satellites in orbit.

The event will also tackle the Robotic Refueling Mission 3, which aims to develop cryogen and xenon transfer technologies, and the Raven project which aims to offer relative navigation capacities.

Some technologies to be demonstrated during the event include:

  • Relative navigation system
  • Robot arm and software
  • Tool drive system and tools
  • Fluid transfer system
  • Servicing avionics and software
