PacStar to Begin Full-Rate Communications Module Production for Army - top government contractors - best government contracting eventPacific Star Communications has received authorization from the U.S. Army to begin full-rate production of deployable and tactical communications modules in support of the service’s Transportable Tactical Command Communications program.

PacStar’s 400-Series small form factor communication modules are designed to provide baseband networking support for the T2C2 program’s Heavy and Lite satellite terminals that work to provide military users access to the Army’s tactical communications network, the company said Wednesday.

PacStar CEO Peggy Miller said the company’s selection to support the military branch’s T2C2 program seeks to reflect PacStar’s investment in product development and commitment to provide technical support.

The company’s baseband platform consists of Intel’s processors, Cisco’s switching and networking tools and routing systems.

PacStar and the 25th infantry division’s 4th brigade combat team completed operational tests of the modules at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska.

Cubic’s mission solutions business unit also secured Army approval to start the full-rate production phase for expeditionary satellite antennas.

The military branch intends to begin T2C2 program deployment to 15 operational components this year.
