Kratos Gets State Dept OK to Market Tactical UAS in Europe, Asia Pacific; Steve Fendley Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe State Department has authorized Kratos Defense and Security Solutions to market a tactical unmanned aerial system in select countries within Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

Mako is designed to operate independently or in conjunction with other UAS platforms to support manned aircraft in a contested airspace environment, Kratos said Tuesday.

The UAS has a capacity to carry weapons and sensors and was previously flown in various military exercises.

Steve Fendley, president of Kratos’ unmanned systems division, said that U.S. allies and partner nations represent a key part of the company’s existing and new customer base.

The company works with DOS-authorized foreign customers on multiple programs, contracts, systems and technology products.

Kratos added it offers aerial target systems to U.S. and international defense organizations.
