Navy Taps Northrop Grumman to Support E-2D Trainer Development for Japan - top government contractors - best government contracting eventNorthrop Grumman has received a $13.8 million contract to deliver programmatic and engineering services for the Japanese government’s E-2D Advanced Hawkeye weapon system trainer.

Services will be done to support the development, integration and verification of the early warning aircraft trainer under a foreign military sales effort with Japan, the Defense Department said Friday.

The company will conduct 60 percent of work in Melbourne, Fla., and the remaining percentage in Sterling, Va. and Misawa, Japan.

The Navy obligates the entire contract amount in FMS funds upon awarding.

Fla.-based Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division issued the sole-source contract.
