Peraton has received a potential five-year, $40.97 million contract to help the Department of the Navy identify, locate and remove unexploded underwater and ground ordnance.

The contract has a one-year base term and four one-year options and covers support for the Navy’s explosive ordnance disposal program management office, Peraton said Wednesday.

“Detecting, locating, removing or neutralizing unexploded ordnance that threaten our forces and innocent civilians is a critical [Defense Department] and humanitarian mission, and it is an honor to be a part of it,” said Gus Bontzos, president of Peraton’s defense and electronic warfare sector.

The award is the 10th consecutive EOD services contract the company secured since 1983 in support of the joint EOD community.

The EOD program management office provides EOD technicians with tools and equipment to locate and neutralize improvised explosive devices, sea mines and other unexploded ordnance.
