DTRA Solicits Nuclear Threat Detection Tech Proposals - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe Defense Threat Reduction Agency has released a broad agency announcement in search of new technology platforms that can detect nuclear threats.

A FedBizOpps notice posted Monday says DTRA aims to identify equipment for threat diagnostics and characterization, sensitive site exploitation, contamination avoidance, and consequence management through a five-year solicitation.

The agency will collect and evaluate white papers under the first phase of its BAA process, then accept proposals by invitation as part of the program’s second phase.

DTRA plans to issue contracts beginning in the government’s 2019 fiscal year and provide funds in the $500,000 to $5 million range over a performance period of up to three years.

The agency noted it will consider “proposals aimed at the higher end of this funding range” if the offerors demonstrate a capacity to bring systems into the hands of the warfighter.
