Scientific Research Corp. to Engineer, Install Navy Carrier Under $92M IDIQ - top government contractors - best government contracting eventScientific Research Corp. has secured a potential $92.5 million contract to engineer, integrate and install command, control, communications, computers and intelligence systems on newly constructed aircraft carriers of the U.S. Navy.

SRC will also support the service branch’s shipbuilding conversion efforts and other government shipbuilding projects under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Defense Department said Friday.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command awarded the IDIQ on behalf of the carrier and air integration program office within the Navy’s C4I program executive office.

DoD noted the sole-source contract’s ordering period will run through Sept. 29, 2019, and work will take place at multiple shipyards located in California, Mississippi and Virginia.

The award is intended to address continued requirements for the CVN 73 test integration facility and assessment phases as well as CVN 74 and CVN 79/80 TIF and laboratory test phases.

Contract work will also support production and shipboard installation of CVN 73; planning, design, procurement, production of the CVN 74; space design, procurement and production of CVN79/80 ship signal exploitation technology; and shipboard installation and test phases of the CVN 79 radio communication suite or distributed system and CVN 78 local area network drops.
