Report: Air Force Seeks Industry Sources of Single Aircraft Platform for Command Post, Executive Airlift Missions - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.S. Air Force has asked information on potential industry sources that could provide a single aircraft platform that will work to perform the missions carried out by planes intended for command post and executive airlift operations, Defense News reported Wednesday.

The report said the service intends to look for that platform through the NEAT program, which stands for National Airborne Operations Center, Executive Airlift, Airborne Command Post and Take Charge and Move Out.

A request for information posted Tuesday on FedBizOpps says the Defense Department is looking for potential aircraft systems that can execute the missions of the E-4B aircraft for NAOC, E-6B for TACAMO and C-32A for executive airlifting operations ”in a more effective and efficient fashion.”

Air Force Materiel Command asks prospective vendors to state their general capabilities, hardware production, systems engineering and integration, software development and recommended technical platforms in their white papers, according to the RFI.

Responses to the RFI are due Aug. 30.

The Pentagon may use the responses to support analysis in the Analysis of Alternatives study.
