BGOV: DoD's Fiscal 2017 'Other Transaction' Awards Hit $2.1B - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe Defense Department obligated a total of $2.1 billion to “other transaction” agreements with multiple contractors during fiscal year 2017, up 50 percent from the previous year, Bloomberg Government reported Wednesday.

BGOV data showed that DoD has 150 active OTAs worth up to $48 billion combined, all of which awarded either directly to companies or through a consortium.

DoD spent $5.8 billion on the existing agreements to date and issued nearly $1.9 billion of those obligations to individual contractors while another $3.8 billion to consortia or consortium management firms.

The report noted that Analytic Services Inc. has received the largest amount of OTA funds from the Pentagon as of Aug. 7, followed by the U.S. National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Boeing.

The U.S. Army has awarded $3.7 billion in OTA funds since fiscal 2014, the report added.
