Northrop to Supply Navigation, Radar Systems to Military Sealift Command - top government contractors - best government contracting eventNorthrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit has won a $19.6M firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Navy to deliver electronic navigation systems and associated radar components.

Sperry Marine, operating under Northrop’s electronic systems segment, is tasked to provide electronic chart display information systems as well as X-band and S-band radar units as part of efforts to replace and standardize the Military Sealift Command’s navigation platforms, the Defense Department said Monday.

ECDIS is a computer-based navigational chart system that uses automated technology, sensors and radars to provide real-time visualizations of a naval vessel’s current location.

MSC received six proposals for the contract via FedBizOpps and will obligate the Navy’s fiscal 2018 working capital funds upon issuance of each individual order under the competitively procured contract.

The command will also obligate $3.5K from working capital funds to cover the minimum guarantee.

Work will take place in Harvey, La. through Sept. 9, 2023.
