Alion Science and Technology has launched artificial intelligence tools designed to aid human-machine teaming in defense and security operations.

The company said Friday it will use agile engineering approaches in efforts to help clients implement new AI-based technology platforms.

Todd Borkey, chief technology officer at Alion, said the company wants to focus more on engineering machine and deep learning technologies that can support military logistics, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance functions.

“Those sorts of advancements offer real possibilities for better systems and operations that can be felt in tangible ways by our warfighters,” Borkey added.

Alion expanded its portfolio of AI offerings for federal government customers upon acquisition of MacAulay-Brown and its Enlighten IT Consulting subsidiary.
