Charles River Analytics Receives Contract Option for Swarm Tactics Effort - top government contractors - best government contracting eventCharles River Analytics has received a contract option for work under the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency‘s effort aiming to develop swarm tactics.

The company said Tuesday it will work to apply swarm algorithms and tactics for urban reconnaissance and isolation or SATURN into DARPA’s Offensive Swarm-Enabled Tactics program.

SATURN applications are made to manage resilient behavior for swarms heterogeneously consisting of multiple unmanned vehicle types.

Charles River is among teams selected for the OFFSET program that aims to increase the lethality of smaller military units through the use of autonomous swarms.

Spencer Lynn, senior scientist at Charles River, said the company developed primitives, algorithms and tactics during the contract’s base period.

“Now, we get to integrate them into the OFFSET Swarm System Integrators’ simulation environments,” he added.
