GSA Briefs Industry on Potential $5.5B IT BPA With Air Force - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe General Services Administration on Wednesday held an industry day in Atlanta to discuss a potential five-year, $5.5B blanket purchase agreement for information technology products and services that GSA plans to introduce with the U.S. Air Force, FedScoop reported Thursday.

A FedBizOpps notice posted Oct. 16 stated the 2nd Generation IT contract is a multiple-award BPA intended to replace the Network-Centric Solutions-2 products acquisition vehicle and help defense, federal, local, state and tribal agencies to buy IT hardware and software through GSA’s IT Schedule 70.

The report said GSA plans to issue a formal solicitation by February and award the 2GIT contract in April or May before NETCENTS-2 expires next year.

2GIT will have a one-year base period and four option terms of 12 months and will have four line item numbers for data center equipment, end-user hardware, radio equipment and network tools and another pool that covers all IT products under the four line items, according to a draft request for quotation.

GSA will accept questions on the proposed contract through Nov. 7.
