Navy Plans Five-Year Trident II Missile Production Contract - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.S. Navy intends to negotiate a potential five-year contract with Lockheed Martin for TRIDENT II D5 missile production, support tools and system deployment services.

A FedBizOpps notice posted Monday says the company’s space business will perform work through Sept. 30, 2024, if the contract is awarded.

The Navy’s Office of Strategic Systems Programs seeks contractor support to build and deploy missile bodies, instrumentation systems, re-entry bodies and support equipment, according to a separate notice.

The proposed contract will include D5 engineering, operations and technical services, as well as efforts to obtain and analyze flight test data for the Missile Defense Agency and the U.S. Air Force.

SSP also requires field processing support for the SSGN Attack Weapon System installed at Strategic Weapons Facility-Atlantic.
