ManTech International has received a potential four-year, $45M contract to develop sensors for the U.S. Navy’s PMA-231 Hawkeye aircraft.

The company’s “agile approach to sensor development and platform integration will drive efficiency, add flexibility for adopting emerging technologies and lead the way to new capabilities that enhance the U.S. Navy warfighter’s mission,” Kevin Phillips, Mantech president and CEO, said in a statement published Monday.

The company will leverage its agile software engineering and sensor integration experience to support the aircraft’s intelligence delivery mission.

Naval Air Systems Command’s Hawkeye uses automated sensors to help warfighters identify, track and perform surveillance on cruise missile systems and hostile aircraft.

The contract was awarded through the Defense Department’s Information Analysis Center program that offers research and technical data management support for DoD and other federal agencies and runs as part of the Defense Technical Information Center.
