NASA Seeks Info on Propulsion System Materials Testing Services - top government contractors - best government contracting eventNASA is looking for potential sources that can provide testing and analysis services to support propulsion systems development efforts by the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.

The contractor will perform their services for NASA-led programs as well as Defense Department, government, commercial and educational activities as part of an upcoming follow-on award to a previous Testing and Analysis of Propulsion System Materials contract, according to a notice posted Thursday on FedBizOpps.

The notice stated that the contractor must be able to provide ultrasonics, ultrasonic spectroscopy, collimated radiography, computed tomography and eddy current evaluation work.

Other testing services include material property determination, data evaluation and engineering analyses, nondestructive evaluation, environmental conditioning, test plan definition, process development and assessment, failure mode determination and microstructure evaluation.

Data acquired from the assessments will be used by MSFC’s Materials and Processes Laboratory to evaluate factors such as material constituent variation and environmental effects on the propulsion materials’ thermal, physical and mechanical properties and performance.

Interested parties may submit responses through Nov. 11.
