Boeing Gets $75M USAF Airborne Command Post Logistics Support Order - top government contractors - best government contracting eventBoeing has received a one-year, $75M order from the U.S. Air Force to provide logistics support services for an aircraft platform built to function as a command-and-control post in the event of a national emergency.

The order is for E-4B support work and part of a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity sustainment contract, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

Work will take place at Offutt AF Base in Nebraska and facilities in Oklahoma and Texas through Nov. 30 of next year.

The military service will obligate $57.2M in fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.

E-4B is a militarized variant of Boeing 747-200 and a key element of the National Military Command System for the U.S. president, defense secretary and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
