Lockheed Gets $78M Modification for Undersea Warfare System Support - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Lockheed Martin's rotary and mission systems business has received a $77.7M contract modification from the U.S. Navy to produce surface ship systems designed to recognize undersea contacts and avoid threats.

The company will develop and integrate capability build and technical insertion baselines for the service branch's AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 Undersea Warfare System, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

USW is designed to search, identify, classify and track or evade underwater objects including submarines, torpedoes and mines.

Work will take place at locations in Pennsylvania, Florida, New York, Virginia and Massachusetts through May 2021.

The full amount of 77.1M at the time of award is from Navy and foreign military sales funds.
