SpaceX Tests Falcon 9 Rocket 'Crew Dragon' Demo Flight - top government contractors - best government contracting event

SpaceX conducted a static fire test of the Falcon 9 rocket with the Crew Dragon spacecraft Thursday at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Space.com reported Friday.

The rocket briefly fired its first-stage engines on Launch Pad 39A while carrying the vehicle built for an uncrewed flight test that will reportedly take place no earlier than Feb. 23.

NASA and SpaceX planned to conduct Demo-1 this month, but they decided to postpone the mission to give more time for further preparations and hardware tests.

The company was awarded $2.6B contract in 2014 to develop the Dragon spaceraft for crewed flights.
