Peraton Wins Navy Task Order to Help Engineer Marine Mammal Systems; John Coleman Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Peraton has won a 30-month, $12M task order from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command to provide engineering support for the U.S. Navy’s marine mammal systems.

The company said Tuesday it will provide logistics planning and analysis as part of the Unmanned Maritime Systems Support contract, as well as help the service branch ensure certification of the systems.

Work also covers design engineering, fabrication and maintenance support and takes place at three naval bases located in California, Georgia and Washington.

John Coleman, president of Peraton’s defense and homeland security sector, said the company has support the Marine Mammal Program over the past 15 years.

The SSC Pacific Reconnaissance and Interdiction Division manages training of dolphins and sea lions to find and mark underwater objects.

Peraton noted it has seven task orders under the UMSS contract covering technical and operational support services.
