Microsoft to Introduce Video Game Controllers at VA Rehabilitation Centers - top government contractors - best government contracting event

The Department of Veterans Affairs and Microsoft have partnered to deploy a video game controller technology for use in rehabilitative and therapeutic activities at select VA facilities nationwide.

VA said Tuesday it will deploy the company's Xbox Adaptive Controllers at 22 medical centers to aid in muscle activation and hand-eye coordination exercises of military veterans who have spinal cord injuries, amputations or neurological disorders.

“This partnership is another step toward achieving VA’s strategic goals of providing excellent customer experiences and business transformation,” said VA Secretary Robert Wilkie, a 2019 Wash100 winner.

Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, said the company aims "to bring the device to veterans with limited mobility, connecting them to the games they love and the people they want to play with."

VA personnel will report feedback to Microsoft after applying the controllers to veteran care activities.
