BAE Systems officially unveiled an innovation facility at a cyber center in Augusta, Ga.

“We’re incredibly excited about our partnership with the Georgia Cyber Center and continuing to grow our workforce in the Augusta and Ft. Gordon areas,” Peder Jungck, vice president and general manager of BAE’s intelligence solutions business, said in a statement published Wednesday. “The potential for collaboration, innovation, and mentorship that comes from sharing a campus with some of the brightest minds in cybersecurity today is truly limitless,” Jungck added.

Officials who were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Jungck; Al Whitmore, president of BAE’s intelligence and security sector and 2019 Wash100 Award winner; Augusta Mayor Hardie Davis; Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger; Susan Parr, CEO of the Augusta Chamber of Commerce; and representatives of Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) and Reps. Rick Allen (R-Ga.) and Jody Hice (R-Ga.)

The opening of the innovation hub marks the expansion of the company’s work in Georgia. BAE has over 400 employees in Augusta and Fort Gordon focused on delivering information assurance mission support and analytics. BAE also showcased its Machine Assisted Analytics Program, Robotic Operations Center and the Project Sunday cybersecurity program during the launch.
