Rob Davies, executive vice president of operations at ViON and a former Wash100 award winner, told MeriTalk in an interview published Wednesday that application performance, data security and cost are the key factors driving the multicloud strategy.

Davies said hyperconverged infrastructure could support information technology organizations by delivering “on-premise IT services with the speed and operational efficiency of the public cloud.”

“IT leaders should look to HCI to maximize uptime with native Data Protection and Security,” he noted. “With HCI, these capabilities are inherent in the system, providing greater control and visibility while streamlining management of the infrastructure.”

Davies cited the organizations’ need for high-performance infrastructure to support machine learning, artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and other resource-intensive applications.

He also called on organizations to align workloads to the right cloud platform to help prevent security risks, increased costs and latency issues.
