The State Department has approved the Netherlands’ request to procure Excalibur tactical projectiles and associated equipment through a potential $40.55M foreign military sales transaction.

Raytheon Technologies, which was formed through the merger between Raytheon and United Technologies Corp., will be the prime contractor on the proposed FMS agreement, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday.

The agreement covers the procurement of 199 Excalibur Increment IB M982Al munitions along with technical assistance, logistics, training and program support services from the U.S. government.

DSCA added that Netherlands will combine the projectiles with traditional artillery platforms that employ the PzH2000NL self-propelled howitzer to manage precision fires while cutting the risk of collateral damage.
