Unisys has announced a set of first quarter 2020 contracts with new and existing clients valued at $200 million, the company reported on Wednesday.

“Our top priority during this unprecedented crisis has been the safety and well-being of our associates, clients and partners,” said Eric Hutto, president and chief operating officer of Unisys. “We also maintained our focus on providing the best service and most innovative solutions possible for our clients to help them through their challenges during this time. Our solutions for security, digital workplace and cloud and infrastructure are relevant to our clients at this time.”

Of the announced contracts, Unisys signed a $140 million deal with a major commercial defense contractor to provide comprehensive cross-functional IT services and Unisys Stealth security software to protect data across unclassified and classified IT environments. The services and software will help the client optimize how they deliver services to their business partners.

In addition, a global frozen-food company signed a contract with Unisys for digital workplace services powered by InteliServe. Under the contract, Unisys will optimize, modernize and provide clarity within the company’s technology operations.

InteliServe will also enhance the user experience within traditional services, including service desk, field services, productivity and collaboration across business unit applications and processes like those within human resources, compliance and finance.

Last, Unisys reported its contract expansion with the California State University (CSU) for CloudForte and Managed Security Services to support CSU’s hybrid-cloud environment with its CloudForte capabilities.

The expansion will help CSU integrate its hybrid cloud information resources to deliver more educational and administrative services across all 23 campuses. The services are designed to provide a better user experience to more than 484 thousand students and 52 thousand faculty, while enhancing operational efficiencies and reducing costs.

The CSU contract was initially awarded in Sept. 2017. The automated Unisys Cloud Management Platform (CMP), a software-as-a-service solution, is the fulcrum of the CSU cloud solution. It identifies and allocates private, public and hybrid cloud services as necessary to provide the most effective and cost-efficient resources for a given task.

The CMP will draw on all sources of analytical data, including the service catalog of the Unisys-provided service-management system, to discover information on cloud usage that can streamline operations and improve delivery of services while reducing associated costs.

“The Unisys solution creates a secure, analytics-driven cloud environment to integrate our information resources to develop and deliver more innovative educational and administrative services across all 23 campuses quickly and cost-efficiently,” said Steve Relyea, executive vice chancellor and chief financial officer for the CSU.
