SOS International will continue maintaining hardware and software assets at two Internal Revenue Service-owned computing centers as part of a five-year $13 million task order under the Chief Information Officer – Solutions and Partners 3 contract of the National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center.

The company said Wednesday it will provide on-site preventative, predictive and remedial maintenance to ensure that IRS mainframes, peripherals and software at the west Virginia and Tennessee centers remain functional and available at all times.

The agency uses the systems at the said facilities to process tax forms and store tax records.

“The IRS’s tax collection capabilities are dependent upon the constant integrity of its mainframe processing environment at the facilities we maintain,” said Julian Setian, president and CEO of SOSi.

The company has been providing IRS with maintenance services since 2015.
