Verizon‘s public sector business has booked two contract awards, worth a total of $34.6 million, from the Department of Energy in support of its digital modernization efforts.

The task orders, awarded through the General Services Administration’s Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contract vehicle, cover voice and data services across multiple DOE facilities including its headquarters in Washington, D.C., Verizon said Wednesday.

Commenting on the recent wins, Jennifer Chronis, senior vice president of Verizon Public Sector and previous Wash100 Award winner, highlighted the company’s delivery of network offerings its customers and said the ability underscores Verizon’s position as a “go-to partner” for network and technological needs within the public sector.

“The depth and experience of our professional and managed services teams along with their hands-on approach to building customized solutions for our customers is at the heart of our recent string of wins with the federal government,” Chronis added.

Verizon, under the task order covering voice services, will help the DOE meet its modernization goals and next-generation voice requirements by assisting the department’s transition from Time Division Multiplexing voice platform to IP-enabled voice services.

As part of the data task order, the company will provide a range of services including Internet Protocol service, Optical Wave Service, Virtual Private Network Service and Private Line Service throughout DOE plants, site offices, national laboratories and other locations domestically and internationally.

The DOE orders follow Verizon’s recent wins through the EIS contract vehicle. Verizon secured a $78 million task order for Naval District Washington and five task orders worth a combined $887 million through the Department of Labor within the past three months.
