Susan Penfield: Booz Allen's Velocity Publication Offers Emerging Tech, Mission Transformation Insights - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Booz Allen Hamilton released Velocity, a publication of contributions from the company’s talent and partners who seek to provide government and industry leaders with expertise in workforce, national security, defense, society and technology as well as other technical areas.

In her published opening remarks, Susan Penfield, chief technology officer of Booz Allen, said the first issue of Velocity is aimed at addressing questions and sharing insights about emerging technologies and its role in rebuilding trust in digital society; lessons to be gained from mission transformation examples; and potential impact of new capabilities on U.S. critical systems.

“As historic opportunities come into focus, federal agencies in all sectors can benefit from the most powerful technologies they’ve deployed in generations– from digital twins to quantum computing and beyond,” she wrote.

One of the features of the publication is Haluk Saker’s strategies to engage top technical talent amid escalating competition to hire technology workforce. The Booz Allen senior vice president recommended prioritizing the right skills, having new talent engagement approaches and reconstructing roles for the future to make progress in the war for talent.

Other topics include quantum cyberthreat, enterprise DevSecOps in action, digital twins for modern government, putting zero trust into practice and the next wave of technologies.

Horacio Rozanski, president and CEO of Booz Allen and a two-time Wash100 Award recipient, called for the industry to reimagine how it will address complex mission needs amid the shif in innovation.

“No one company will be able to do this alone— success will rely on our ability to build enduring partnerships into an innovation ecosystem that can move from idea to scaled mission impact at breakneck speed,” he said.
