Boeing announced plans to open and operate a new engineering facility at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, or ERAU, in Daytona Beach, Florida, soon.

Once the facility is erected within the university’s Cici & Hyatt Brown Center for Aerospace, Boeing said Tuesday that its employees will perform engineering work for military aircraft programs and advanced technology capabilities.

Steve Nordlund, Boeing air dominance vice president and general manager, said, “Expanding both our footprint in Florida and partnership with Embry-Riddle will accelerate innovation across our combat aircraft programs.”

Nordlund adds the facility’s location is expected to attract ERAU graduates and established aerospace engineers from across Florida and nationwide.

Hiring for 200 high-paying engineering jobs will also start this year and should double in the coming years.

The construction of the 65,000-square-foot facility started in 2022 and is expected to be completed by late fall.
