northrop-Grumman_BLUEA Northrop Grumman U.K.-based subsidiary will help expand the air traffic control communications systems at the Dubai International and Dubai World Central airports in the United Arab Emirates.

Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems will provide Park Air Sapphire products, such as the Park Air T6 Radio, to the Dubai Air Navigation Services agency as part of a contract won by Bayanat Engineering UAE, Northrop said Tuesday.

Danny Milligan, managing director at Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems, said the products aim to boost performance and meet environmental obligations through reduced power consumption and the lack of toxic materials.

Park Air Sapphire will also work to support simultaneous call transmission detection at the Dubai airports to alert air traffic controllers when multiple pilots communicate with air traffic control simultaneously, Northrop said.

The company will begin delivery of the radios within March.
