cyberRaytheon has received certification from the National Security Agency for its Ethernet encryption system that works to safeguard Top Secret-level data and sensitive compartmented information in networked communication platforms.

The NSA Type 1 certification seeks to authorize Raytheon to sell its KG-350 Layer 2 Ethernet encryption tool to government, military and commercial clients, the company said Wednesday.

KG-350 complies with NSA’s Ethernet Security Specification standard and is designed for use in tactical vehicles as well as for fixed-site deployments.

“The advantage of ESS compliance is that ESS encryptors are interoperable with one another, which means keeping pace with growing networking needs simply requires adding new encryptors rather than replacing entire networks,” said John Droge, director of Raytheon’s secure information systems business.

Raytheon offers the KG-350 system to government customers through indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts.
