TextronTextron‘s subsidiary called Aerosonde has adopted the new name of Textron Systems Australia in a push to reflect the business unit’s broader service offering and efforts in the Asia-Pacific region.

The company said Thursday Textron Systems Australia will specialize in all aspects of unmanned aviation such as ground control technologies, training and simulation systems, logistical, engineering and support services.

“For the past 25 years, Textron Systems Australia has been deeply focused on [unmanned aerial systems] manufacturing, design, operations and support – specifically focusing on the Aerosonde [small UAS] product and services line,” says Jack Kormas, Textron Systems Australia managing director.

“We plan to continue supporting the Aerosonde SUAS, while also adding support for other Textron Systems businesses… Our services can be applied to various Textron Systems products and endeavors – and we are excited to formally take on this expanded mission and support our fellow businesses.”

Textron Systems Australia provides UAS and operational services to clients in the entire Asia-Pacific region and up to Antarctica, the company noted.
