Beowulf combat vehicleBAE Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary has scheduled the debut of its new all-terrain utility vehicle on Sept. 10 at the National Guard Association of the United States symposium in Baltimore, Maryland.

Beowulf is an unarmored version of BAE Systems’ BvS10 combat vehicle built to replace the BV206 small unit support vehicle, BAE Systems Inc. said Wednesday.

The U.S. Army Alaska, U.S. Marine Corps, Army National Guard units and partner countries currently deploy the BV206s.

Beowulf is designed to traverse rough terrains and harsh environments and the vehicle can carry 8 tons payload, personnel and cargo.

BAE Systems Inc. developed the tracked vehicle for military and civilian operations such as disaster response, relief efforts and search and rescue missions.
