CAE worked with the air forces of Australia and Canada to help them participate in a multinational integrated live-virtual-constructive exercise with their U.K and U.S. counterparts in mid-August.

The Royal Canadian Air Force and the Royal Australian Air Force implemented CAE-built full-mission simulators during the Coalition Virtual Flag 16 event, the company said Wednesday.

“These kinds of distributed mission training exercises… are becoming more critical as militaries and coalition partners look to cost-effectively prepare for operations and maintain readiness,” said Gene Colabatistto, president of CAE’s defense and security group.

The company helped RCAF’s 426 Squadron and the Canadian Forces Air Warfare Center plan, prepare and execute the military branch’s participation in CVF16.

The squadron performed a range of airland and airdrop missions with the CC-130J full-mission simulator during the exercise and CAE’s simulation software worked generate more than 2,000 virtual and constructive in a synthetic environment, the company added.

CAE said it also helped RAAF integrate, network and test the service branch’s C-130J full-flight mission simulator and tactical airlift crew trainer into the CVF16 exercise.
