general-dynamics-logo2The U.S. Marine Corps has completed an operational test on the General Dynamics-built Common Aviation Command and Control System at a Marine Corps weapons and tactics instructor course in Arizona.

General Dynamics said Wednesday the service branch’s Marine Air-Ground Task Force uses the CAC2S platform that visually integrates C2 data collected from aerial and ground-based radar systems and sensors to build on situational awareness and interoperability.

Bill Weiss, vice president and general manager of ground systems at General Dynamics’ mission systems business, noted that the weapons and tactics instructor course provides a near-combat simulated environment that works to support Marines as they test CAC2S.

General Dynamics’ mission systems business unit developed the CAC2S system in efforts to consolidate existing Marine Air Command and Control Systems functionalities into a single system that can be scaled to support different missions.
