bae-systems-striker-ii-helmetBAE Systems and Terma will continue their collaboration on helmet audio development efforts after the conclusion of a design review on a joint development agreement product that integrates systems from both companies.

Terma said Thursday a joint development agreement covers the integration of Terma’s 3D-Audio/Active Noise Reduction technology with BAE Systems’ Striker II helmet mounted display and aircraft integration and certification tasks prior to production.

The companies are presenting their work at the ongoing Weapons and Tactics Conference in Tucson, Arizona and Terma will also install its 3D-Audio/ANR technologies at BAE’s Rochester, UK-based simulation facility for prospective buyers that want to test the technology.

3D-Audio works to send alerts on the exact direction of potential danger and help pilots respond to threat warnings that can offer situational awareness to the users.
