IBMlogo3 EbizIBM will add four new cloud data centers that possess cognitive intelligence capacities in the U.K. to meet a growing client demand.

IBM said Monday the new facilities will triple the U.K.’s cloud center capacity as well as support the company’s commitment to deliver new products and services to the country’s market.

The new facilities will provide users with access to the company’s portfolio of cloud services as well as expand the company’s cloud data center footprint across the U.K. and other countries in Europe as part of IBM’s network composed of more than 50 data centers.

“These new cloud data centers will help our firms work smarter and quicker to become the world-leading businesses of tomorrow,” said Matt Hancock, Minister of State for Digital and Culture.

Robert LeBlanc, senior vice president of IBM’s cloud business, said the addition of four new cloud data centers will help provide local businesses with access to the cloud data services such as Watson cognitive services and Blockchain.

The company noted that the new cloud data centers will feature modern infrastructure designed to provide users with a capacity to combine infrastructure resources such as metal servers, virtual servers, storage and networking to balance the workload.

Clients can also utilize the data centers to transfer and replicate data in multiple locations to reroute and balance workloads as well as control how to run business operations and deploy information technology operations locally via the cloud.
