Charles River Analytics Joins SiCore's Military Avionics Security Tech Development Team - top government contractors - best government contracting eventCharles River Analytics has joined a SiCore Technologies-led team that aims to help the U.S. Air Force detect and eliminate malware in avionics as part of a program to strengthen cybersecurity of the service branch’s platforms and weapons systems.

Charles River said Tuesday it will create new technologies designed to prevent attacks on airborne ISR missions as a member on the SiCore team that supports the Avionics Vulnerability Assessment, Mitigations and Protections program.

The Air Force awarded SiCore a $47.9 million contract last year to develop risk mitigation tools and techniques for the service branch’s weapon systems and identify potential vulnerabilities in the Air Force’s avionics systems.

“We are addressing several important challenges under the AVAMP program, such as assessing the vulnerability of ISR systems, detecting malicious software and firmware, and automatically mitigating the effects of any attacks,” said Terry Patten, a principal scientist at Charles River Analytics.

“We are also providing mitigation and protection through our Secure Resilient Operating System, a hypervisor-level OS that uses multi-kernel virtualization to provide isolation, redundancy and resilience.”
