CAE Assists Australian Air Force in Networked Virtual Training Exercise - top government contractors - best government contracting eventCAE has deployed engineering and support staff to help the Australian air force conduct a virtual training exercise wherein the military branch networked multiple simulation assets.

The company said Tuesday its engineers integrated and tested a C-130J full flight mission simulator onto Australia’s Defense Training and Experimentation Network as part of preparations for the Diamond Thunder Exercise.

CAE staff members at the Australian defense simulation and training center implemented the networking infrastructure for the training event.

Diamond Thunder connected C-130J, E-7A and F/A-18 simulators from air bases in Richmond, Tindal and Williamtown to support training activities and mission rehearsals.

The Joint Air Warfare Battle Laboratory in Williamtown coordinated and managed the virtual training environment as the program’s command center.

Networked simulation devices flew simultaneously during the exercise to perform virtual missions that involved missions against air defense, ground radar and surface-to-air missile threats, CAE noted.
