Lockheed to Test C-130 Aircraft Wing Durability Under $61M Air Force Contract - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.S. Air Force has awarded Lockheed Martin a potential eight-year, $60.5 million contract to perform wing durability test on the company-built C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.

Lockheed will carry out test preparation, test operations, residual strength test, test teardown and inspection, outer wing test and technical data delivery under the sole-source contract, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

Work will occur at a company facility in Marietta, Georgia, through Sept. 26, 2025.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will obligate $16.4 million at the time of award from the service branch’s fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance funds and Canadian government funds.
