Education Dept Releases IT Investment Mgmt Support RFP - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe Education Department seeks contractor support to implement information technology governance and investment management programs that will cover the areas of capital planning, investment control, budget formulation, IT portfolio management and enterprise architecture.

ED said in a request for proposal notice posted Friday on FedBizOpps the department plans to award a potential five-year, firm-fixed-price contract to procure ITIM support services.

A selected contractor will assist in the management of ED’s IT portfolio that encompasses 140 major and non-major investments as well as support the ITIM team in efforts to establish policy, guidance and procedures meant to help the department comply with federal IT requirements.

The department noted it spends more than $700 million on IT-related initiatives each year.

Responses to the solicitation are due Oct. 23.
