GE to Repair T64 Engine Components Under Potential $81M Navy Contract - top government contractors - best government contracting eventGeneral Electric‘s aviation segment has received a one-year, $80.5 million “undefinitized” contract from the U.S. Navy to repair and replace 32 head-of-family items and other components utilized on the T64 engine.

The contractor will also provide configuration management support as well as help the service branch meet delivery metrics and operate a T64 logistics management system designed to store and pack materials, the Defense Department said Friday.

T64 currently powers various Navy and U.S. Marine Corps helicopters, amphibious aircraft, rotary and fixed-wing aircraft platforms such as CH-53E, MH-53E, DHC-5A, G222, US-1A and NAMC YS-11E.

The Navy issued a potential $14.1 million initial delivery order alongside the contract and obligated $10.6 million in fiscal 2017 working capital funds at the time of award.

Work will occur at the Fleet Readiness Center East in Cherry Point, North Carolina, through September 2018.
