SES to Provide Managed, MEO Satellite Network Services to Govt Clients - top government contractors - best government contracting eventSES‘ government solutions business unit will deliver managed network and low latency Medium Earth Orbit satellite network services as part of contracts received from the U.S. government.

The company said Monday that it will provide approximately 4 gigabits per second of managed O3b services to aid 13 sites around the world for customers including the Defense Department and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Government customers have used SES’ MEO services to fulfill various requirements including niche services, file transfer, big data backhaul and backbone services that support client enterprises.

Pete Hoene, president and CEO of SES Government Solutions, said that the company looks to deliver MEO and GEO services to help government clients meet requirements for a resilient national security architecture.

Hoene added that the company looks to contribute to future government activities as SES continues to expand its current MEO fleet.

SES noted that the demand for MEO services within the defense and security markets have risen and the government seeks to meet a need for low latency capacities.
