Oshkosh Introduces Joint Light Tactical Vehicle with Missile, IED Resistance Upgrades - top government contractors - best government contracting eventOshkosh Defense has unveiled a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle which features a new missile upgrade and a capacity to endure attacks from ground-based improvised explosive devices, Task and Purpose reported Wednesday.

The Oshkosh Defense JLTV was demonstrated at the Association of the U.S. Army’s annual meeting in Washington to highlight the platform’s modularity and features.

The JLTV was built with a modular design that can integrate with armor plating for Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected capacities.

“The modularity wasn’t just developed for flexibility downrange, but to provide room for growth regarding armor requirements and future weapons systems,” said Dave Diersen, vice president and general manager of joint programs at Oshkosh.

Oshkosh’s JLTV featured a Boeing-built Compact Laser Weapon System, Trophy Light Active Protection System and Rafael Samson RWS Dual Stabilized Remote Weapon Systems.

The platform can also be equipped with Boeing’s Maneuver Short Range Air Defense Launcher, M299 Launcher and Longbow Hellfire missiles.
