NASA Offers Commercial Licensing for 2 CubeSat Technologies - top government contractors - best government contracting eventNASA has unveiled commercial licensing opportunities for two agency-built technologies geared for small spacecraft and satellites.

The technologies were part of the recently launched Dellingr six-unit CubeSat created at the Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA said Tuesday.

Enidia Santiago-Arce, senior technology manager for the Goddard Strategic Partnerships Office, said the unit constantly seeks partners and licensees for NASA technologies with the aim to benefit the public.

The two Goddard technologies for licensing are the Diminutive Assembly for Nanosatellite Deployables or DANY and the CubeSat Form Factor Thermal Control Louvers.

DANY is designed to prevent damage or failure during the restraint and release of peripheral “deployables” for smallsats of the nano or micro variety with a mass of up to 110 pounds.

The thermal control louvers are intended to ensure the internal thermal stability of small spacecraft through passive thermal control.

NASA launched Dellingr on Nov. 20 with the goal of demonstrating the performance of space science missions using a “robust” and low-cost platform.

Dellingr carried three heliophysics-related instruments and operational components and subsystems.
