Report: Raytheon Eyes Sale of Tomahawk Missiles to Foreign Customers - top government contractors - best government contracting eventRaytheon is considering the foreign military sale of its Tomahawk cruise missiles beyond the U.K., Seapower Magazine reported Wednesday.

Christian Sprinkle, Raytheon’s senior program director for Tomahawk, said that the company wants to keep its missile production activities going to be well-positioned to compete for the U.S. Navy‘s Next-Generation Land-Attack Weapon program in 2030.

Sprinkle added that Raytheon designed a capacity for potential FMS deals involving Tomahawk.

NGLAW will have a maritime strike function, similar to the Maritime Strike Tomahawk that Raytheon currently builds for the Navy.

Sprinkle noted that the production line will be used for a few years to recertify the U.S. and British navies’ Block IV Tactical Tomahawks for 15 more years of shelf life.

Approximately 3,000 Tactical Tomahawks will be converted into MSTs during the recertification.
